This is 30 second music piece I wrote during the BMI/NYU TV workshop. It was written to the opening credits of TV the series "The Americans". The story is about two Russian agents who pretend to be a married couple to spy on the American government. I wrote this music, inspired by the fairy tale "The Ugly Duckling." My composition describes three stages of the main character's life: (1) born and rejected by family, (2) run away from home and face death, and (3) find his own soul and beauty when he discovers he's actually a swan.
